What is Gala? Gala is the time-honored annual formal event hosted by the Wayne State University School of Medicine Student Senate. It is a one-of-a-kind opportunity for the entire WSUSOM community to celebrate our medical school. Gala is a night of dinner, refreshments, the presentation of awards and recognition of students and classes. The night ends with dancing and socializing long into the evening hours.
The night begins with a complementary cocktail hour and hors d'oeuvres before a brief ceremony, moves on to a fantastic multi-course dinner, and finishes with two more hours of complementary cocktails with a live DJ and dancing.
Cash bar extends the night until close at midnight. Carnival-style photo booths are provided at no charge so that attendees can record the fun of this amazing night!
This year's Gala will be January 31st, 2015, at Motor City Conference Center in Downtown Detroit.
Doors open at 5:30. Presentation and Ceremony by Student Senate begins at 7pm with dinner to follow.
